The Actias School
Our Therapeutic Model
We combine evidence-based therapy and genuine connection with students to support their goals:
We also provide comprehensive services for parents because systemic change is essential for student progress.
Universal Design for Learning
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that designs learning experiences from the start to support the widest possible range of learners, rather than retrofitting accommodations after students struggle. It’s based on three principles:
Multiple Means of Engagement
UDL builds in options that tap curiosity, autonomy, relevance, and emotional safety.Multiple Means of Representation
Information is presented in more than one format: visual, auditory, hands-on, and experiential toMultiple Means of Action and Expression
Students can demonstrate their knowledge in various ways: writing, speaking, building, modeling, performing, diagramming, coding, and more.
UDL aligns with neuroscience research, emphasizing that no single approach works for all learners. Instead, flexibility, intentionality, and predictability lead to stronger engagement and outcomes.
